The journal of Peleg Burroughs

A Tiverton, RI. Baptist minister chronicling his life and ministry 1780 – 1786
Links are blue

There are two versions in this digital library, the first is the 1981 published book of the transcribed journal, and the second is a set of digitized images of the actual handwritten journal from microfilm. (with permissions)
The first is a word searchable PDF of the published book. It provides researchers and genealogists a direct way to find information within the journal.
  • The book was transcribed and edited by Ruth Ann Sherman under the auspices of the RI Genealogical Society
  • The microfilming was done by the American Baptist Historical Society
  • A portion of the original journal is housed at the American Baptist Historical Society.
  • Another portion is housed at the Newport Historical Society
  • Digitizing the published book and rendering it into a word searchable document was the work of Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society (DHAS). Special thanks to the RI Genealogical Society for the loan of the actual printers setup pages used for the digitizing.
